Netflix film Love in the Villa is finally available from the 1st of September.
Filming took place in Verona a year ago and Tommasi worked together with the production.
Our wines and our wine cellar have in fact been chosen as protagonists of the film.
The film tells the story between Julie and Charlie in the city of Love … and Wine!
Julie’s dream trip to Verona turns star-crossed when she discovers her rented villa is already occupied by an annoyingly attractive stranger. She is here after a breakup to find any consolation during her stay, whereas he is in town for Vinitaly, the wine fair.
Among squabbles, languid glances and a happy ending, the image of a charming Verona turns out and you can discover how much the city is linked with the myth of Romeo and Juliet and how deep and important is the bond with wine and territory.
Tommasi becomes one of the protagonists through the images of its own Tommasi Amarone Classico, Casisano Brunello di Montalcino and De Buris Amarone Riserva bottles, and of the stunning ageing cellar, which is the suggestive background of one of the main scenes.
The images of Verona and Tommasi are on the screens of millions of people, the platform subscribers are in fact about 180 million.
“I’m sure the rest of the world will fall in love with Verona watching the film, just as much as I am now”, had commented the actress Kat Graham, star of the successful TV serie The Vampire Diares.
The romantic plot has Tom Hopper as the protagonist ( also a well-known face of The Umbrella Academy, Game of Thrones and Merlin).
Third protagonist: Verona, the ancient city and its most beautiful views with Tommasi wines and winery, which will now really go around the world in a click. Mark Steven Johnson (Jack Frost, Daredevil ) is the director and screenplay writer.
The collaboration with Neftlix, the production and the cast was truly a unique experience. A team of professionals who created a bit of healthy turmoil in the cellar for a few days. Therefore, they amazed us with their contagious enthusiasm and curiosity to know all the details of our wine production, in particular Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg, the oenological pearl of our territory and family.
