Tommasi at Vinexpo

Visit us at HALL 1 - E 114!

Four generations grown in Valpolicella Classico region among vineyards and enhancement of the territory.
A wine as a symbol: the Amarone, whose Tommasi is one of the most renowned Ambassadors to the world
Tommasi, historical wine producer based in Valpolicella Classico area, is proud to attend Vinexpo Bordeaux with his Amarone della Valpolicella Classico docg 2011, which deserved great reviews by the most prestigious wine magazines.
92 points, Monica Larner of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2011 Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a dark and extra-ripe expression with broad shoulders and a heavy frame. The warmth of the 2011 vintage shows clearly with darkened aromas of blackberry preserves and candied cherry. Bold layers of spice, leather and tobacco stand at the back. The wine boasts smooth, velveteen tannins. Drink this Amarone within the next 5-8 years.
91 points, Alison Napsjus of Wine Spectator:
The 2011 Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an elegant red, well-knit and fresh, offering a subtle, silky palate of sun-dried cherry, plum tart, forest floor and black licorice drop, with hints of mocha and dried herb. Supple tannins frame the flavor range and emerge on the finish. Drink now through 2025.
At Vinexpo Tommasi presents for the first time the Ca’ Florian Amarone Riserva vintage 2008, this is just the 2nd vintage released and it is simply great. The wine is aged for 4 years, first in tonneau of 500 Lt and the other three years in big Slavonian oak casks. The wine is than refined in the bottle for another year. Ca’ Florian Amarone Riserva has a remarkable personality and a bright, deep ruby color. Complex and elegant on the nose, full body with a great elegance it has silky tannins that give to the wine a pleasant long finish.
Vinexpo is also the perfect stage to introduce CASISANO, the new investment of the Tommasi family, in Montalcino. The total estate is 53 hectares, of which 22 are vineyards for Brunello and Rosso and 12 are planted with olive trees.
Tommasi is one of the most renowned Ambassadors of great Italian wines in the world and Vinexpo is always a great opportunity to meet our partners and wine people to make business and strengthen our wine brands in the world.

Vino - A Taste of Italy

Here we are, ready for Expo Milano 2015! You'll find us at "Vino - A Taste of Italy" pavilion!
The Pavilion narrates and celebrates Italian wine and its terroirs, helping to explain and taste excellence Made in Italy, the outcome of 2500 years of history, culture, research and innovation. From the Domus Vini to the Terrace, the route is full of surprises (there is even an App) and a tour around the 5 senses of wine, the symbol of Italian Lifestyle. The world of Italian wine, its history and its future are to be found where the cardo and decumanus meet: in the WINE Pavilion at Expo, set up by Vinitaly and the Ministry of Agriculture to a design by archistar Italo Rota. A fascinating, interactive and multi-sensorial tour which unwinds over three floors: from the Domus Vini on the ground floor through to the terrace on the roof of the structure. Passing by way of the Wine Library on the first floor, an area for tasting great Italian wines - the result of passion and work, tradition and new technologies. From ancient Enotria to the Wine Store of the future (there is even an App), wine speaks of Italy and its 544 native vines - a unique feature typical of Italian lands and traditions. No other country in the world can boast such a strong and vital biodiversity, that has helped characterise a modus vivendi tracing its roots in the history of the peninsula across the centuries as well as defining the Italian Lifestyle known, appreciated (and unfortunately also imitated) all over the world.
Since London 1851, for the first time in the history of the Universal Exposition, an entire Pavilion will be dedicated to Italian Wine, highlighting that the story of life and food summed up in the slogan for Expo 2015 Milan - "Feeding the planet, energy for life" - also includes wine as an integral part of a balanced and internationally acknowledged dietary model. The tour of the VINO – A Taste of Italy Pavilion calls upon all five senses (taste, hearing, smell, sight, touch) to ensure total visitor involvement. Sounds, music, the great interpretations of wine in the arts and history (over 2,500 years) narrated through the skilful mastery of artists witnessing the interest of society as a whole towards 'planet wine'.
Almost unique experiences (the Winecard includes a glass and three wine tastings and may be 'recharged' only once, following the philosophy of responsible consumption of wine), with over 1,400 wines available on rotation during the six months of the event. The tour ends on the Terrace, an area where Italian wine-making companies and wine consortia will arrange appointments and guided tastings (the calendar is published in the tasting section).
