Marmomac – the leading international exhibition dedicated to marble and natural stones – will showcase food and wine with the evocative ‘Ristorante d’Autore’
Four famous chefs, four exclusive menus, a selection of DOC wines and the beautiful stone materials found in nature: these are the ingredients of “Nature Works” within the central theme of this year’s ‘Ristorante d’Autore’. The pop-up location, curated by ADI Veneto Trentino Alto Adige Delegation, is an exclusive restaurant reserved for guests attending Marmomac, the leading international trade show for the natural stone industry to be held in Verona from September 25-28.
Nature releases a relaxing energy, a welcome reprieve during a trade show. ‘Ristorante d’Autore’ is where top-class gourmet food will be served with carefully selected wines in collaboration with Tommasi Family Estates. This historic producers of classic Valpolicella wines currently owns and operates estates in five of Italy’s finest wine regions. They bring the conviviality of wine to complete the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere and to enhance the carefully studied gourmet food and wine experience.
The underlying theme ties into the inspiration of the Italian Stone Theatre in Hall 1 at Marmomac: An exploration of the features of rocks in nature and how the sensations of a rocky landscape can be replicated in forms and shapes for furnishings.
The materials used will include marble or natural stone, shaped and modelled by the passing of time. Over thousands of years, water, wind and stone merge to create a single, constantly changing form. Nature surrounds each element and our mother earth presents herself to us through the gaze of millennia.
The restaurant will welcome the cuisine of renowned star chefs who will take turns during the trade fair – Giovanni Ricciardella of Cascina Vittoria Restaurant (25 September), Giancarlo Perbellini of Casa Perbellini Restaurant (26 September), Bartolini of Glam Enrico Venezia Restaurant (27 September), Matteo Grandi of DeGusto Cuisine Restaurant (28 September) – and will be set up with a reception desk and 15 tables in natural stone.
Each table will be a kind of snapshot captured by the designer’s eye against an evocative setting with varied species of trees and shrubs.
The following wines will be available for tasting:
- Caseo Pinot Nero Brut
- Tommasi Le Fornaci Lugana Doc 2018
- Tommasi Rafael Valpolicella Classico Superiore Doc 2017
