Casisano Brunello di Montalcino grows at the Asian market and wine tourism.

The Tuscan project of the Tommasi family has recorded excellent results on the export front and marks a 10% increase in value.

With a total production that has reached 115,000 bottles, comprising around 45,000 of Brunello di Montalcino Docg, 4,000 of Colombaiolo Brunello Riserva Docg and 65,000 of Rosso di Montalcino Doc, 2022 has proved to be a year of important goals for Casisano, the Tuscan estate of the Tommasi family, which closed the year with a 10% increase in value. The Casisano selection represents significant growth and the realisation of an important objective. It also marks the awareness of having become, only 8 years after its acquisition in 2015, an important and tangible reality, with well-defined style characteristics and a clear identity. This is part of the Tommasi family strategy, i.e. respect for the DNA and traditions of each individual territory of the estates therein.

«Casisano is part of an investment project that Tommasi Family Estates has developed over the years with a forward-looking and strategic perspective – explains Pierangelo Tommasi – As a generation of the family that is celebrating the company’s 120th anniversary, we are increasingly focused on interpreting our wine production, as ambassadors for ‘Made in Italy’ excellence throughout the world. For this reason, seeing Casisano flourish fills us with satisfaction, Brunello di Montalcino is considered a fine wine appreciated and recognized both at home and abroad and the results obtained in 2022 are immensely gratifying».

The Italian domestic market grew by about 5%, while the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom are the three foreign countries on the podium for the sale and diffusion of Casisano Brunello, followed by Switzerland. Of the 80 markets in which Tommasi is present. there are 30 in which Casisano is distributed. Another important strategy is being played out in Asia, where the Casisano brand is already present, but where there is room for improvement in growth margins, especially in countries such as South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.

«These are countries where the history, quality and charm that distinguish Italian wines and in particular fine wines are becoming increasingly appreciated. Owing to their quality, critical plaudits and merited awards, the Brunello di Montalcino signed Casisano, with the Rosso and the Colombaiolo Brunello Riserva, have garnered a great deal of interest in Asia. The desire to explore the range of offers and the different styles that the Montalcino area presents has allowed an encouraging growth of Casisano, and in turn, a marked increase in the demand for historical vintages, for which Casisano has a valuable library» concludes Pierangelo Tommasi.
