Air Dolomiti, an Italian subsidiary of Lufthansa, and Tommasi Family Estates announce a special collaboration which will benefit passengers throughout 2019. From 1 February 2019 until 31 January 2020, all flyers will be able to enjoy wines produced by the Veronese winery. Tommasi will be Air Dolomiti’s official wine supplier and the wines selected will be offered on rotation throughout the network (9 destinations in Italy and 12 throughout Europe based on the current winter schedule for a total of more than 500 flights every week). Three premium wines from Tommasi estates will be served on-board, taking travellers on a tasting journey through various renowned regions. The wines have been selected from different geographical areas to suit all palates. Lombardy gives us Caseo Pinot Nero Brut, a pale gold sparkling wine with a fine and constant perlage. From south of Lake Garda we have Tommasi Le Fornaci, Lugana doc, a fragrant and fruity wine with delicious notes of tropical fruits. Tuscany‘s offering is Casisano Rosso di Montalcino doc, a dry wine with a lovely balance between tannins and acidity and a fresh and lasting finish. Around 30,000 bottles of these three wines will be served. “Like Air Dolomiti, our company has strong roots in the region and over the years we have grown by strengthening our family brand, so that today we are recognised internationally,” says Pierangelo Tommasi, Executive Director of Tommasi Family Estates. “Along with wine production, with estates in five Italian regions, we are also heavily involved in hospitality. The region is rich in knowledge and culture, and our family has always sought to enhance and protect this. And so we are proud of this partnership with Air Dolomiti for 2019”. This high-altitude hospitality will also continue on the ground. Upon presentation of an Air Dolomiti boarding pass at Tommasi estates, customers will be rewarded with an amazing experience: a free tour and tasting of the Tommasi Family Estates selection with a discount on purchases. The offer is valid in the new Welcome Area of the historic site of Valpolicella Classica in Pedemonte, Verona, at Casisano in the Montalcino estate in Siena, and at Paternoster, symbol of the Vulture area in Basilicata. “We are proud to announce this collaboration which reflects the high quality of our on-board service. Tommasi is a company which respects traditional methods but also looks to new innovations, and its growth demonstrates its success in this regard. Passion, research and customer focus are characteristics which set our business apart. Our passengers will be able to taste the best wines at altitude and also find the same warm hospitality on the ground with this family-run business”, says Joerg Eberhart, President & CEO of Air Dolomiti. The flight will be the start of a journey which can continue in the winery.
